Mission Statement:
Our mission at Therapy Music - Rehab is to “Empower all recovering persons and treatment programs with a means to support sobriety by blending proven recovery principles with the transformative impact of music”.
We believe music can reach where words alone cannot — lifting spirits, reducing stigma, and reinforcing the belief that everyone in recovery has a reason to feel hopeful, excited, and proud of the path they’ve chosen.
About Therapy Music - Rehab
Therapy Music - Rehab was created to bring together professional counseling expertise, lived experience, and the healing power of music. Our founder, an adult child of an alcoholic, grew up surrounded by substance use and abuse and knows firsthand the impact addiction has on families and individuals. Backed by training at the U.S. Navy Alcohol and Drug Counseling School, a one-year clinical preceptorship, advanced studies at the University of Hawaii and Rutgers University Summer School of Alcohol and Drug Studies, and years of work in counseling and outreach, Therapy Music - Rehab combines both professional knowledge and personal understanding. We have treated and taught across diverse populations—Marines, sailors, civilians, children, and families—and have provided education and counseling for alcohol, narcotics, nicotine, gambling, overeating, and grief. These experiences have shaped our approach; music not only educates but also empowers and inspires.
“As a counselor, I needed a tool to combat radio advertisements that triggered use. My clients were on an island (Okinawa, Japan) with one radio station and no songs played that supported recovery. In a group therapy session, and later in a 1-on-1, one of my patients expressed regretting not having music that supports healing. That statement, his idea, stuck with me until this day. So, that is the idealization that this company was built upon. Providing daily tools (songs) that can assist in recovery” (Rawls, P., 2025).
At Therapy Music - Rehab, we create custom recovery songs, educational albums, and therapeutic tracks designed to support the journey of recovery. Each song is built to motivate, calm, or encourage reflection—offering individuals and treatment centers a unique tool that goes beyond traditional counseling methods.
